The Copycat Symptom
She loves attention, and she loves to sit on the altar as the role of a mother! Everyone has to be around her, talks to her, and listens to her. If she doesn't get that surrounding, then she would go into a fit of pretending to be sick. Yes, she is old and feeling pain/ache is understood. It is not easy being old, unable to do certain things, and needy.Somehow though, this constant dramatized situation took the life out of everybody, and they became immune to her whines. She hasn't learnt yet that her behaviors kept everyone at bay, and no one has the desire to come giving her the love that she so wanted.
Love doesn't have to be forced into! Love should be genuine and should has a natural flow in showing affection!
She picks up on old people's illness as her own when she heard of a new symptom, and acts out as though she herself has the problem. Along the lines, her children lost track of what is true and what is made-up! Doubts began to set in the minds of people that care for her.
Lately, she complains that she couldn't breathe right after she heard of a woman who had this symptom. Coincidentally you think? She talked about this woman enough time that now she believed she has the same condition. Giving her the benefit of a doubt, the children bought her medicines, provided her with what she needs, and quietly watched the situation unfold.

ReplyDeleteFarm Boy had a great~uncle and aunt who were the world champion hypochondriacs. Unk even called up a hospital and tried to reserve an operatin' room for his imaginary illness.
I'm primary for my MIL who suffers from Alzheimers and every moment is 'new' with her!!!

oh, the fairy family is in tough spot mumsy, hope the fairy mother will be touched at heart to be sensitive to the feelings of offspring.

ReplyDeletethe dramas and mental tortue. It will never end as long as she is here. God must have set this up as a lesson for us to practive more patience and extreme love...unconditional love.
