Soak In Pollen
In front of my house, by the sidewalk, this beautiful chicory are growing like weed, well yes they are considering weed anyhow. I have falling in love with them when I first see them. While taking this picture, a bee lands right in the middle.
It was too busy going after the pollen to bother with me. I didn't see any of those "white stuffs" until I upload the pictures.
I love the curvy things in the heart of this flower, and as you can see the bee was very contented inside. I love macro setting since I can see so much more details.
After the bee had enough, he came out and looked at me. His body was covered with white dots. It was an incredible sight to see.

Wow!!! I love these macros! You have gotten so much closer than I can! I love chicory! The white stuff is the pollen, and the curly things are stamens. In the morning, they are straight, and they curl throughout the day. You know that each flower only lasts one day. They can be used for cut flowers, in a tiny vase.
I was just reading in Horticulture magazine chicory growing in an area is an indicator of fertile soil. Usually you see them in the ditches or waysides of the roads here. Great photo.
Blue candy canes...sort of. Gorgeous flower and great series of shots.
very, very nice photo!
It is amazing what you can see with macro shots. And so often I too will take a shot and not see everything until I upload the photo. These shots are wonderfully detailed.
Now this is really close. it is amazing how many details macros reveal.
I like this beautiful pale blue flower too with the curls in the middle.
Have a beautiful weekend!
Oh Mumsy! Those are GORGEOUS! The *white stuff* makes them look like the have been dusted with sugar. So sparkly! You inspire me to *play* with my camera more! And you really should be publishing some of your awesome photos ... like for money! :)

gotta love the crystalline blue sandy
How amazing, there are times that you didn't expect when taking pictures. You didn't expect a bee will show and pose for macro, did you?
That blue in macro is stunning! Love how it highlights the dark activity of the bee! Beautiful photos!

Great macro shots!!
Just lovely..
Absolutely beautiful! I don't think I've ever seen blue stamens before and the shots with the bee are tremendous, particularly the last one. Gorgeous :-)
Gorgeous macro shots! The detail is awesome!
I love your macro shots. Chicory is so pretty anyway and your detail just makes it more amazing.
You've captured some excellent details in these photos Mumsy. I love how the bee is looking at the camera in the last shot!
Gorgeous Mumsy!
Happy new week.
Fantastic! Beautiful macro's. I think I have fallen in love with this chicory flower also after seeing your photos, and loved seeing everything so up close, sharp and so clear, which included the little visitor. Thanks for sharing and have a great week.
Superb photos!
Chickory is such a useful plant, most people do not associate it with the expensive Witlof that they use in their salads. Witlog is a growth bud of chicory grown in the dark. Chickory roots can be roasted and used as a healthy coffee substitute.

those stamens are so gorgeous. wiggly, and curvy. beautiful color flower too.
The blue stamens look like sparkly pipe cleaners! These are absolutely gorgeous close-ups! I love the hard-working-bee close-ups, too. Great photos.
Gorgeous blue flower! It is hard to see blue flowers here in Singapore, except in flower shop's cold room.
